10 Grandparent Friendly Places to Go in Gloucestershire

My friend has requested that I put a handy list of ‘Grandparent Friendly’ places to go with kids in Gloucestershire so that she doesn’t have to Google anything! So..here goes:

1) The House of the Tailor of Gloucester.
Museum and shop dedicated to all things Beatrix Potter and in particular, her famous Gloucester story. A wonderfully quaint museum and near to the Cathedral which is also free and great to have a look around.

2) The Wilson Museum
Free to walk around and it has a great little local history section (tucked away!) with some weird and wonderful exhibits and a little play area. It also has a new ‘World of Wonders’ playroom.

3) The Library
Find your local one online and check opening times.

4) Pittville Park
Massive playground. Lake with ducks and nice cafes for ice cream!

5) Get on a Train.
Try Cheltenham Steam Train Rides to Broadway or travel to Weston-Super-Mare with a direct train there and back once a day.

6) Sudeley Castle
It has a great playground/mini castle. Large picnic and play area and an interesting Castle to walk around.

7) Bowling or Crazy Golf at The Brewery
Bowling can be loud and crazy golf not so loud but all good fun for kids!

8) Bourton-on-the-Water
Lovely place. River, Railway Museum, Model Village, Motor Museum, Ice Cream, Chips, Bakeries.

9) Hobbycraft and Pets at Home at Gallagher Retail Park.
Full of craft stuff and it has kids craft workshops and events. Then nearby is a pet shop with fish and some fluffy animals to look at.

10) Arboretums
Westonbirt and Batsford are both wonderful for short or long walks and sometimes have kids activities on.
