Harry Potter Book Night at Cheltenham Children’s Library

We popped into the Cheltenham Children’s Library for some books today (you can take out 20 at a time!) and found out more about the events there, including a Harry Potter Book Night.

The national event on Thursday 7th February has been running for five years and Cheltenham Library is promising ‘something magic’ for the evening. Exact events and timings for the evening haven’t been confirmed but keep checking the website here.

Organisers of the event, Bloomsbury Children’s Books has revealed that ‘Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry’ will be the theme for Harry Potter Book Night 2019. The publisher is aiming to make it the “biggest” Harry Potter Book Night yet.

Other regular events at the Children’s Library include: ‘Story Time’ for toddlers on Friday mornings 10-10.30am weekly including stories and colouring.

Baby Bounce and Rhyme is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays in term time from 10-10.30am when you can enjoy songs and rhymes with your baby. It’s a fun and friendly session for babies. As well as helping your child’s development, it’s also a great way for you to meet other parents and carers.

Library assistant, Jane said, ‘Come and see us as we have so many lovely books here and literacy is so important to children. We have regular events here but we are also open to new ideas. You can come into town, do some shopping and then visit us to enjoy an oasis of calm!’
