Review of Brasserie Blanc’s New Autumn A la Carte Menu

If you’re looking for seasonal and fresh food in luxurious and friendly surroundings then head to Cheltenham’s Brasserie Blanc.

We (my husband and I) went along to try the new autumn à la carte menu which is currently featuring a great range of classics such as soufflés, snails & steak frites alongside adventurous autumn dishes including slow cooked duck and pheasant.

The menus, created by Raymond Blanc, aim to offer something for everyone. The much-loved French classics aim to be as authentic as possible and sit alongside a selection of dishes inspired by Raymond Blanc’s love of travel and international cuisines.

My husband has never been to Brasserie Blanc before and was surprised at how reasonable the prices are and how lovely the atmosphere – he liked the ‘old school vibe’! The staff are some of the friendliest and most helpful in Cheltenham! We enjoyed a cocktail, including a lovely ‘Ginger Spice Spritz’ while looking at the menu – they have a great range of dishes so you feel spoilt for choice!

We went for the cheese soufflé 6.95 and escargots 7.95 as starters – both quite unusual for us but very tasty. The snails were delicate with a garlic sauce and the soufflé, one of Brasserie Blanc’s favourites, is delicious.

For the mains we picked from the seasonal menu – my husband had the smoked pork belly with apple & crackling 17.95 and I had the slow cooked British pheasant with cranberry, girolles and Muscat pumpkin 16.95. Both were delicious, fresh and beautifully presented.

There is a good range of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu along with some interesting sides – we had the wilted spinach and kale with Wyke farm cheddar sauce & almonds 4.25.

If you have room for desserts, they’re worth trying as they are also delicious – we had the sticky toffee pudding 6.95 which my husband described as having a ‘crunchy twist’ and the pistachio souffle 7.65 was subtle and light.

We would highly recommend a meal at Brasserie Blanc Cheltenham – mainly because of the choice on the menu, the great welcome from the staff, the buzzing atmosphere and the tasty and fresh food!
